Antibiotics are given during hyperthermia. For Lyme Disease, the temperature will be maintained for one hour at 42 degrees. To ensure the patients are well monitored post HT, the patients are required to be observed in the medical centre overnight with continuous monitoring of vitak signs. The following day, a Physician/Surgeon will review the patient before returning to the Daycare Centre.

D3-7

Continue with IV detox and antibiotics. Patient will be given oral antibiotics for a week or two, depending on their status.

Pre-Treatment Requirements

As the test for Lyme Disease is not specific enough, many patients with Lyme Disease was tested as negative, despite them having typical symptoms. As such, we do not need the special expensive test for Lyme Disease. Thus we will make a clinical diagnosis and treat as such. If the test has been done and it is positive, this is very helpful in the diagnostic workout for Lyme Disease.

Tests that need to be done before asking for appointments are:

a. Blood test including Full Blood Count, Liver Function Test, Renal profiles, Serology for HBsAg and HIV.

b. Lung function test

c. Echocardiogram

d. ECG

Special Diet

This is very difficult to address as inter-personal variations exist and the severity from one patient to another may varies. But trying gluten-free food, and taking anti-oxidants may help. Avoiding alcohol may be good as it helps the liver to be at its optimal function without the necessity to handle the extra load from alcohol.

Re-Treatment with Hyperthermia

Is is better to repeat the hyperthermia treatment about 3-4 weeks or up to 6 weeks.

Most of the patients of Lyme Disease will start noticing the improvement as early as one  week post hyperthermia, although some may noticed the improvement as late as 6 months, but generally the gradual improvement will be noticed. This include the brain fogs, headache, neck stiffness, better energy and wellbeing. The fatigue may stay on for a while.
