Yes. You need and appointment. There ia only one Heckel 3000 series installed at this time and we are only doing one case per day. Few days before, a session will be arranged for the Physician to see and evaluate your status as well as to go through your medical history. It is important for you to bring along with you all the test done earlier. For the local hyperthermia, each session will take an hour, thus appointment are necessary to prevent unnecessary prolonged waiting time. We treat about 7 cases per day on our Celsius 42+.

Is there a special preparation that I need to go through before the Whole Body Hyperthermia?

Yes. There is a bowel preparation that starts the night before the WBH. The last dinner before the day of the WBH should be skip, apart from liquid dinner. By 10 pm, you need to take the oral fleet provided to induce diarrhea, You can drink clear water 10 pm or take medication. By 6am of the day of the WBH, you are to insert the fleet enema to give a final wash for your rectum. This is to ensure there are no fecal material that may interfere with the correct reading of the rectal temperature probe.

Is there contraindications for the use of local hyperthermia?

Metal implants pose problems to achieving the desired temperature while there may be disturbance to pacemaker functions.

Am I allowed to wear jewellery including rings?

No jewelleries are allowed for the WBH, while in local hyperthermia, we discourage you from wearing them during local hyperthermia. Certainly jewellery in the treatment area are not allowed as it may cause unnecessary burn or pain.

What are the possible side effects of local hyperthermia?

The most common side effect is the intolerance to the high temperature used. Using Celsius 42+ we are able to reduce the skin temperature to allow better heat tolerance, by controlling the temperature of the electrodes. Sometimes patients may experience painful lumps underneath the skin and these are fat necrosis that sometimes occur. This will heal spontaneously after several days.

How much does that WBH cost?

The WBH cost at only RM 8,000.  Antibiotics for patients with Lyme's disease is a separate cost. The average cost for extreme WBH with sedation and antibiotics and iv infusions including Vitamin C, Glutathiones etc is around rm 24,000/-

Is an Anaesthetist available for the procedure?

Anaesthetist is available by appointment and can be arranged for those who wishes to have their services. There will be a separate fee for the anaesthetist.

How soon does a patient undergoing WBH recover?

As soon as the sedation is over, they are able to go back to their hotel room. Some are able to enjoy the dinner the same evening!

For those who prefer to stay in the recovery area under constant observation, this facility is also available at additional cost.

Is WBH safe?

Before coming to our centre, it is important that you have done the following test and email to us the result. You need to undergo a comprehensive blood test commonly called 18KS, ECG, Echocardiogram, Lung Function test and if available a medical report from your physician. If the test are all normal, the WBH is very safe. For that reason, we insists  insist for the patients to undergo these test before booking for appointments, and we will again repeat the blood test on our first interview in Malaysian.

For Lyme's Disease, how long is the programme?

Normally we want to treat the patient for a week including a day on hyperthermia and a week of intravenous antibiotics and detox medication.  We prefer you to repeat the treatment again a month later and probably another 3 months later, if we find it necessary.
